Liberian Sketch Artist, Painter, Cartoonist

A. Leslie Lumeh, Cell: (+231) 6 430 483 e-mail: leslielumeh@yahoo.com www.leslie-lumeh.rlhub.com
Born in 1970 in Dambala, Western Liberia, Leslie Lumeh is a self-taught artist with a diploma in architectural drafting from the Booker Washington Institute, 1987. Leslie discovered that his paintings had value following the civil war that tore his country into pieces when he started recreating scenes from the war, first in simple pencil sketches, and later in watercolors on drawing paper, then finally onto canvas. These early works attracted an unexpected number of people, not only Liberians but foreigners as well, including international journalists. Soon he was getting commissions from private collectors as well as institutions. ::::[read more]

WelcomeLiberia sends support to Kenya!!
WelcomeLiberia celebrates the win of Barack Obama as the 44th President of the United States of America. It feels a little nostalgic when our beloved President won the race as the first female president-elect of Liberia and Africa.

With all that said, WelcomeLiberia sends support to the people of Kenya. Even though we understand the disadvantages faced by Barack Obama because of an absent father, we are glad that that father comes from the land of Kenya, Africa.

Time and Time again, these runners had ran the longest races and won Olympic Medals while the world watched in amazement. Today, we can finally say, their win is not just symbolic, it has embodied a person, and that person is a Barack Obama.

Staten Island
By: Staten Island

Introduction

Staten Island is one of the five boroughs of the city of New York. The Island is more or less a suburb of the city and a nice place to live in the busy and sometimes “chaotic” city of New York. Staten Island is a beautiful place with beautiful sites, views and parks. One sign of its beauty is the diversity of its residence which include Caucasians, African – Americans, Asians and Hispanics. It also has a huge immigrant population with Liberians being one of the biggest numbers.
